LCW – LAST CHANCE WORKOUT

TNT - TIGHTEN AND TONE

Do you watch the Biggest Loser? One of the highlights of the show is the Last Chance Workout.
The Biggest Loser Last Chance Workout is the workout the day before the weigh-in. This is the last chance that everyone has of burning every last calorie and is a way to make sure that the players have nothing left and are going to weigh as little as possible at the weigh-in. The LCW is to be completed either MONDAY or TUESDAY. The reason I bring this up is to try to motivate you to push harder. Think about your last few workouts. Were you on the verge of throwing up? Did you push yourself so hard that you had trouble showering and moving your arms and legs? Did you work out so hard that you were in tears in pain as you got into the car? Well I know that this is very extreme and we don't expect you to push until you throw up. Nearly no one relishes pushing themselves that hard, especially me, but the thing to remember is how hard you worked out when you started your “getting in shape” journey. So why not, when you do a Last Chance Workout, push yourself a bit harder and longer than ever before. Once you get a taste of a crazy hard workout you will realize just how far you have come. You will be doing a personal best and that is something that will bring you so much pride that you will want to do it again soon. Each week during the BLC round you will be given a LCW challenge to aim for. The challenges are usually a certain amount of time to aim for, going for a specific time category, beating your own average time and more. |
TNT Challenges - Each week you will see a TNT Challenge. TNT stands for Tone and Tighten (or Tighten and Tone). The challenges are each a little different but they focus on building strength through a variety of exercises. We also offer an alternate TNT. You can do either of these or choose your own Strength Training program. Just complete your TNT/ST sometime during each week between Wednesday (WI day) and Tuesday...2 times minimum.
If you think strength training is going to turn you into the Incredible Hulk or you’re just plain intimidated by it, you’re in the majority. With so many benefits, there is no reason to not include it in your fitness routine! With the help of informative pages on strength training right here, lots of information on Sparkpeople and your fellow teammates, you have a great opportunity to reap the many benefits a strength training program can offer. There is a lot of evidence that strength training is great at improving your mood, strength training causes the brain to release feel-good endorphins, and researchers believe just 10 weeks of strength training could help fight depression better than counseling. Building strength can decrease your risk for certain injuries and weight bearing exercises improve bone density. Weight training is better than cardio for reducing stress and don’t forget increased metabolism that helps you burn more calories in the hours and days after a workout than if you don’t strength train. So with all theses benefits, and so many more not listed here, we focus on strength training as an integral part of our Ninja Dojo. To get the most out of each challenge, do the best you can, push yourself to do one more set or one more rep than last time, and know that your TNT workout will continue to benefit your body long after you put the weights down! By the way, you won't bulk up like the Hulk...unless you really want to. |

Ninja Mystery Bonus Points!
Ninja Belt points are awarded for achieving a Mystery Goal each week! I've put a list of goals in my Mystery Bonus Jar and will draw one goal at the end of the week - you won't know what goal you had to reach to receive Mystery Bonus points until then. If you're following your plan and doing everything you can to lose weight, you probably will have reached the Mystery Goal! Here are some possible goals to aim for each week:
